Maddie does not drink nine coffees a day

Coffee Quest #19 : Romape (it's not the best and that's okay)

Sometimes you just gotta turn off your critical brain and enjoy things.

This beautiful stall/automobile inside Queen Victoria Market is run by a very nice Italian dude who will happily talk with you about anything and everything. The coffee is nothing special and that's okay. He didn't roast the beans, but it's his blend. And he didn't make the pastries, but apparently his family did, and there's no guarantee what's going to be on sale because they just wake up and make whatever they want to make. Sounds good to me.

It's so nice and cosy and welcoming and the Italian donuts are very different than the cake-like donuts we're so used to (like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin). There's usually a traditional, a nutella filled one, and a custard piped one. I recommend the custard piping because it's not too sweet (and Nutella to me is 1000% too sweet).

He's not at QV Market every day, so catch him while you can. Give him a chat, sit nearby and enjoy the coffee and donut. The coffee's dark (cause y'know, Italian coffee), there's not a lot of complexity, and the notes don't really linger.

It's fine. It's okay. I enjoyed it a lot.
